Chef Louis Robinson returns to BAKER & WIFE for another highly anticipated Spice Pop-Up! Happening September 17th, “La Cocina 2” will be Chef Louis’ second dinner featuring modern Latin cuisine. With the popularity of last year’s La Cocina dinner, Chef Louis Robinson of Spice and Chef Isaac Correa of Baker & Wife decided to collaborate again for a second Latin themed dinner.
To make this experience extra special, there will be table side chef service for guests. This will give you the chance to meet the chefs, ask questions, and get to know them a bit better. There will be local musicians performing live that evening, and the Baker & Wife bar will have Latin themed cocktails for purchase.
This four course dinner is a great opportunity to support two local businesses working together for the love of cuisine. When these talented chefs put their minds together, you know the outcome is going to be delicious!
FEATURED COURSE – ROCK SHRIMP MOFONGO
Mofongo is made from green plantains, a starchier, more savory cousin of the banana… they are fried, and then mashed in a traditional wooden tool called a pilon, where they get married with glorious smoked bacon and garlic confit in Chef Louis’ version. He then covers it in local rock shrimp bathed in a bright herb sauce. This one is sure to be a crowd pleaser, come out and try it!!
